Much as I’d prefer for every divorcing couple to choose the collaborative process to achieve a negotiated resolution, frequently one party is unwilling to participate, often counseled by a non collaborative lawyer. After initial settlement proposals are rejected, litigation offers the parties recourse to a structured civil process for discovery of financial information and the bases for objections to shared custody arrangements. I manage litigation strategically to target critical information while minimizing costs, and am always open to staying litigation when the parties demonstrate receptivity to mediation or collaborative negotiations.
I am a collaboratively trained family lawyer, mediator and litigator representing clients in Montgomery and Frederick Counties, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. My practice encompasses divorce, child custody and support, alimony, marital assets allocation, and pre- and post-marital agreements. Mindful to minimize the cost and acrimony of conventional divorce and custody litigation, as a negotiator or collaborative attorney I facilitate clients’ direct negotiation of mutually beneficial settlement agreements through mediation or collaborative meetings whenever feasible.
