About Uzma Knouss, LCMFT
Uzma Knouss is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist with almost a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Uzma is trained as a relational therapist and uses an empathetic stance and a client-centered model to tailor her approach to each individual she works with.
Uzma is also a certified Imago Counselor, and uses the Imago dialogue skills, among others, to help couples learn how to approach each interaction respectfully and effectively. This can be difficult when emotions are highly charged and one or both partners is not feeling fully seen and heard. It is my job to make sure that you are.
Uzma is originally from the Washington, D.C. are and has also lived in Africa and Australia. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and her Masters in Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts.
